Gravity-fed Vertigo on BrewPublic

We recently participated in "Firkin Mondays" at Bailey' Taproom. We shared our Oatmeal Stout and D.J. Paul was kind enough to write us up.

"This past Monday featured firkin was from Hillsboro’s nano-brewery, Vertigo Brewing. One of the founders, Mike Haines, brought over his Oatmeal Stout for all to enjoy.... read the entire article.

"Vertigo’s Oatmeal Stout is a nice easy drinking stout a bit above 5% ABV and an excellent way to celebrate the start of St. Patrick’s Day week."

"Brewer Profile" at Not So Professional Beer Blog

Sanjay, over at The Not So Professional Beer Blog, dropped by the brewery "on a rainy Saturday afternoon to sample some beer and chat" with us. He was kind enough to write us up on the blog.

We talked about the growth of Vertigo, the promise of the new 7-barrel system, and the prospect of expanding our reach through new distribution channels, bottling, and perhaps even canning.

"Vertigo Brewing" on KSWbeer

KSWbeer contributor Greg gave Vertigo a shout out in a recent feature. Greg's prediction? That Vertigo Brewing is poised to become a regional competitor as our brewing capacity and distribution channels grow. We welcome the vote of confidence, Greg, and appreciate the mention.

Our goals here at Vertigo have not changed since we began — to deliver a high-quality product with an attention to detail and customers. As our seven-barrel system comes together, we look forward to making a bigger step into the market without compromising the care and personal touch that only a nanobrewery can provide.

"Vertigo’s neighborly relationship with their individual and commercial customers is the foundation for their present and future successes; with so much potential, it remains to be seen just how big of an operation they want to become."

"Vertigo Brewing" on Daily Pull Blog

Brady Walen, from Daily Pull, was kind enough to drop by the brewhouse after sampling our Friar Gone Wild taster at the Oregon Brewers Festival. The Daily Pull is a blog chronicling the adventures of a Chicago-transplant in the beer-saturated valleys of the Northwest. We were happy to show him the beginnings of our new seven-barrel system — which should be completed sometime in the next month — along with our full array of beers. Brady was kind enough to write an article about his experience.

Thanks for making the trip, Brady.

"I had seen the brewery's Razz Wheat beer on tap around town occasionally, not to mention the huge lines for the beer at the OBF, but my visit to the brewery revealed that there is much more to Vertigo than this, its best-known beer."

Ben Waterhouse of the Willamette Week is enjoying the Oregon Brew Festival and named Vertigo's own Razz Wheat as one of his top picks. We're glad you enjoyed it, Ben!

There's still one more day to come down and check us out at the OBF. Don't miss it!

"One of last year’s most popular debuts returns. Made with a crazy amount of raspberries. If you must drink a fruit beer, make it this one."

Cyclone Cream Ale Storms Its Way Into Draft Magazine

We're pleased to announce that our very own Cyclone Cream Ale was honored with a mention in DRAFT magazine, a nationally distributed periodical dedicated to celebrating the world of beer. The article, "Top 10 Natural Disaster Beers," highlights a great group of ales with storm-inspired names. Thanks to everyone for helping to get the word out on our delicious brews.

"Don’t be fooled by its light appearance: This cream ale will throw you in circles it’s so good. True, there’s nothing overt here — the magic’s in the subtlety — but like most windstorms, you’ll wonder where it came from."

"Brew Review" at TheInkFlowsLikeWine.com

Ryan Abeling, from TheInkFlowsLikeWine.com, took some time out from his musical activities to lend his thoughts on the recent Holiday Ale Festival. Though he and his friends sampled a fine array of beers, guess which one came out on top? That's right: Vertigo's own Arctic Blast. In his words: "It’s four different malts gave it a sweet and smooth flavor, with a delightful vanilla taste that stayed with you well after a sip."

We're real glad you enjoyed it, Ryan! We had a great festival this year. We'd like to thank this year's organizers and everyone that made the festival a great success. Thanks also to everyone who came out! We look forward to seeing you again real soon. Read the full blog entry.

Update: Ryan was kind enough to give Vertigo Brewing another shout-out on his blog. Check it out!

"The first beer I saw that immediately peaked my interest was the Vertigo Brewing Arctic Blast ’09 Vanilla Porter. This robust offering was hands down my favorite of the festival."
