About Vertigo Brewing

The early seeds of Vertigo Brewing were sown back in 1995 when Mike Haines and Mike Kinion began experimenting with brewing at U-Brew in Tigard, Oregon. But what began as a light hobby soon developed into a deep passion. They quickly outgrew the offerings of U-Brew and expanded their operation into a homebrew setup. Fifteen years later, the two Mikes have a lot of batches, awards, and experience under their belts. Starting in May of 2008, Vertigo Brewing was christened a fully-licensed brewery in a Hillsboro warehouse.

Vertigo Brewing is currently operating a one barrel system, producing eight to ten barrels a month. But as demand takes off, the two Mikes are eagerly looking forward to an expanded business operation. Vertigo prides itself on producing a unique blend of beer offerings that manage to stand out in the beer-saturated market of the Northwest.

The fun kicks off at 4 PM at Bailey's Taproom. We're going to be serving up our very own Friar Gone Wild, a bold take on our standard Friar Mike's IPA. Come down and try some excellent beers and meet some fantastic brewers. We hope to see you there!

"Vertigo Brewing" on KSWbeer

KSWbeer contributor Greg gave Vertigo a shout out in a recent feature. Greg's prediction? That Vertigo Brewing is poised to become a regional competitor as our brewing capacity and distribution channels grow. We welcome the vote of confidence, Greg, and appreciate the mention.

Our goals here at Vertigo have not changed since we began — to deliver a high-quality product with an attention to detail and customers. As our seven-barrel system comes together, we look forward to making a bigger step into the market without compromising the care and personal touch that only a nanobrewery can provide.

"Vertigo’s neighborly relationship with their individual and commercial customers is the foundation for their present and future successes; with so much potential, it remains to be seen just how big of an operation they want to become."

"Vertigo Brewing" on Daily Pull Blog

Brady Walen, from Daily Pull, was kind enough to drop by the brewhouse after sampling our Friar Gone Wild taster at the Oregon Brewers Festival. The Daily Pull is a blog chronicling the adventures of a Chicago-transplant in the beer-saturated valleys of the Northwest. We were happy to show him the beginnings of our new seven-barrel system — which should be completed sometime in the next month — along with our full array of beers. Brady was kind enough to write an article about his experience.

Thanks for making the trip, Brady.

"I had seen the brewery's Razz Wheat beer on tap around town occasionally, not to mention the huge lines for the beer at the OBF, but my visit to the brewery revealed that there is much more to Vertigo than this, its best-known beer."
